Safe Medical Repatriation Following a Complex Hospitalisation in Türkiye

On 2 June 2026, a 17-year-old insured traveller was admitted to hospital in Türkiye with significant electrolyte imbalance, including hyponatraemia, hypokalaemia, nausea, and vomiting.

Throughout the second hospitalisation, the assistance team remained in close contact with the treating physicians and the patient's mother in her home country, continuously monitoring the patient's progress and coordinating the ongoing treatment plan.

Following clinical stabilisation, Remed Assistance coordinated the patient's medical repatriation. Her father travelled to Türkiye to accompany her during the journey home, where she continued treatment under the care of specialist healthcare providers.
