Medical Evacuation from Türkiye After a Poolside Accident

At the end of June, a Russian tourist born in 1989, vacationing in Turkey, suffered a serious accident at the hotel pool area. The accident was caused by the guest accidentally stepping on a metal plate heated by the sun, which had been negligently left by hotel staff. This contact resulted in burns and a subsequent fall, causing damage to the muscles and tendons in the hip and thigh area. The only witness to the incident was a child who happened to be nearby at the time.

Emergency Response and Treatment in Kemer

Following the accident, the patient was taken to a private hospital in Kemer and treated between June 23 and July 2. Surgical intervention was performed on the wound, with a 5 cm stitch applied. Severe pain and restricted leg movement led to a temporary disability.

Health Condition Preventing Commercial Flight

After the treatment, the patient received a medical report stating they were unfit to travel on a regular commercial flight. Due to difficulty sitting for long periods and intense pain, a specialized medical evacuation was required.

Medical Evacuation Process

During the flight, the patient was transported on a stretcher and closely monitored by a healthcare professional. Necessary medication support was provided to maintain the patient’s stable condition. Upon arrival in Moscow, the patient was transferred directly to their home.
