Critical Condition of a 2-Year-Old Insured and Ongoing Care
In September, our 2-year-old insured was rushed to Antalya Training and Research Hospital with symptoms of vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, and convulsions. Given the severity of the condition, the child was immediately admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit. Initial assessments considered meningitis and epilepsy as possible diagnoses, while COVID-19 was also considered.
Initially, the family had sought treatment at a private hospital through another assistance provider. However, because the preliminary diagnosis was “epilepsy,” the insurance company had declined to provide accompaniment services. Following the transfer to the public hospital. This time, the family contacted Remed Assistance to receive the necessary support under another active insurance policy they held.
Remed Assistance Intervention
Our team quickly took over the case. They established direct communication with the hospital, clarified the actual treatment process, and coordinated to ensure all medical expenses were covered. Throughout the hospitalization, the family was kept informed, with regular explanations and translations of medical information, allowing them to focus solely on their child’s care.
After five days in intensive care, the child was transferred to a regular room and shortly thereafter discharged in a stable condition. The significance of this case extended beyond the child’s critical condition; the initial refusal of accompaniment services by the first insurance company added an additional layer of complexity. Through rapid and precise coordination, long-standing partnerships with the hospital, and the personal attention of Operations Manager Dr. Timur Fazlı, the entire process was successfully managed.
The family shared their experience
"The first insurance company we contacted refused to provide services. The team at Remed Assistance, especially Dr. Timur Fazlı, investigated every detail, found solutions, and remained in constant communication with us throughout the process. All costs were fully covered, and we were able to focus entirely on our child’s health. Today, our son is home, healthy, and happy. We are deeply grateful for the care and warmth you showed us during such a difficult time."
